About Gayanose
Gayanose means "one who lays the tracks" or "fresh tracks." She was born May 25, 1912 and passed away May 31, 2000. Gayanose inherited this name from her grandmother who saw her love for nature, strength, leadership qualities, and wisdom. She spoke fluent Seneca and taught the language for many years in the Salamanca School System. Myrtle was proud of her heritage and was happy to share her knowledge well into her later years.
